We finished our study on rocks, and now we are on to soil. Students used their senses to identify properties that define sand, clay and loam. They also arranged the soil samples in a sequence that compared the samples according to a certain property, such as color. Soon they will be creating their own “mystery soil” mixtures, and even challenging other teams to a mud pie contest!
